A striking golden bust of Barcelona footballer Aitana Bonmatí has appeared at Ciutadella Park, honouring her historic third consecutive Ballon d’Or win on 22nd September. The artwork, created by urban artist Diego Ojeda (known as @NadieMeDiceArte), was initially placed beside the park’s monumental waterfall. However, it was moved hours later to the Sonia Resclavo Zafra roundabout.

The sculptor used 3D printing for the bust’s main structure, but hand-moulded details like the shield, shirt logo and ears using modular paste. The piece was finished with gold paper, giving it a brilliant shine. Meanwhile, the base carries an inscription in Catalan reading: ‘Aitana Bonmatí, three-time winner of the Ballon d’Or. Our pride’.

This marks the second time Ojeda has left his artistic mark on Barcelona. In 2023, he painted a mural celebrating Spain’s women’s World Cup victory, reinforcing his commitment to highlighting women in sport.
