Shoppers and video game enthusiasts in Barcelona are invited to step back in time later this month. The Gran Via 2 shopping centre hosts the Gran Via 2 Retro Arcade, a nostalgic event celebrating the golden age of gaming.
From 20 to 28 February, the centre will transform its ground floor into a vibrant 1980s-style arcade. This event promises a trip down memory lane for adults. Meanwhile, it offers a fun, accessible introduction to classic gaming for younger generations.

Classic Cabinets and Pop Culture Icons at the Gran Via 2 Retro Arcade
Organisers have confirmed a curated selection of legendary machines will be available to play. Visitors can test their skills on timeless classics such as Pac-Man and the Sega racing favourite OutRun.
Beyond the traditional cabinets, the Gran Via 2 Retro Arcade will feature recreations inspired by iconic pop culture franchises. Therefore, fans can look forward to machines themed around Stranger Things, Back to the Future, Marvel, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Crucially for families and gaming fans alike, all arcade machines will be completely free to play throughout the event.
Immersive 80s Atmosphere at the Event
The experience extends beyond just gameplay. Gran Via 2 is setting up a dedicated photo zone designed to capture the distinctive aesthetic of the 1980s. The area will feature neon lighting, giant Rubik’s cubes, and a large-scale Pac-Man figure. In addition, it offers the perfect backdrop for social media snapshots.
