The Filmets International Short Film Festival of Badalona has expanded its reach this year, adding Granollers and Terrassa to its circuit for the first time. Now in its 51st edition, the festival will showcase more than 250 films from around the world.

In Terrassa, the Cines Catalunya will host a programme dedicated to fantasy and horror cinema, while Granollers’ Cines Edison will focus on family-friendly screenings. They join existing venues in Badalona — including Teatre Zorrilla and El Círcol — as well as Sant Boi de Llobregat’s Can Castellet and the Institut Français in Barcelona.
Filmets also extends beyond cinemas, with screenings and events at hospitals such as Germans Trias i Pujol, Badalona’s Municipal Hospital and the Institut Guttmann. This outreach reflects the festival’s long-standing mission to bring cinema to a wide range of audiences across the metropolitan area.
The 51st edition not only consolidates Filmets’ role as a key cultural event in Catalonia but also highlights its growth beyond Badalona, strengthening its presence across the region with two new partner cities.
