ISE 2026 Barcelona has opened its doors at Fira de Barcelona today. Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world’s leading audiovisual and systems integration exhibition, now aims to make history. Organisers anticipate that this edition will not only be the largest in the event’s history but will also shatter the attendance records set last year.
The event, which has cemented Barcelona’s status as a global tech hub, kicked off following a high-profile gala at the Llotja de Mar. Attendees included ISE Managing Director Michael Blackman and senior government figures such as Albert Dalmau, Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat.

Breaking the 85,000 Barrier at ISE 2026 Barcelona
Last year, ISE welcomed 85,351 visitors to the Gran Via venue. Early indicators suggest this figure will be surpassed by Friday. Meanwhile, the show’s physical footprint has already expanded significantly to accommodate demand.
This year features 1,710 exhibitors, a 6.5% increase from the previous edition. Notably, 323 companies are debuting at the fair, highlighting the sector’s robust health. In addition, the total exhibition space now spans 101,000 square metres-nearly 10% larger than in 2025.
Logistical Challenges and Future Growth for ISE 2026 Barcelona
The scale of ISE 2026 Barcelona is such that it has required the use of auxiliary facilities at the Fira de Barcelona. This is partly due to the massive construction efforts already underway for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, which takes place next month. The two largest stands for MWC are already being assembled, putting pressure on available space.
However, relief is on the horizon. The venue is currently constructing the new ‘Zero’ pavilion, which is expected to be operational by 2028. Therefore, this will allow for further expansion of the event without logistical compromises.
Organisers are also navigating local challenges, specifically the current mobility crisis affecting Catalonia. While ISE remains a thoroughly international affair-drawing visitors from 168 countries in 2025-efficient transport for attendees remains a priority.
AI Takes Centre Stage at ISE 2026 Barcelona
Beyond the attendance numbers, the content of the congress reflects the shifting priorities of the tech world. Artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity have emerged as the dominant themes for 2026, influencing everything from digital signage to smart home systems.
For the local community, the event is extending beyond the trade halls. To engage with residents in L’Hospitalet, a spectacle featuring 700 drones will light up the sky outside the fairgrounds each evening. The show is open to the public and requires no accreditation to view.
