The actor is reportedly filming ‘Black Tides’ between Terrassa and the Canary Islands under director Renny Harlin. Furthermore, the production involves Catalan company Nostromo Films, demonstrating Catalonia’s growing appeal for international film productions.
Travolta apparently flew his own plane from the Canary Islands to Barcelona, where he discovered the hotel restaurant. During his visits, he sampled multiple traditional dishes including croquettes, meatballs with cuttlefish, and prawns. Additionally, he reportedly enjoyed several desserts, particularly the flans.
Chef Fornell, who also holds a Michelin star at the hotel’s Caelis restaurant, gifted Travolta his cookbook ‘Salsas’ upon his departure. The two exchanged photographs and wished each other luck in their respective projects.
This high-profile visit highlights Barcelona’s status as a culinary destination that continues to attract international celebrities. Meanwhile, the city maintains its appeal to visitors seeking authentic Catalan dining experiences alongside its growing film industry presence.
