Barcelona’s International Caravan Show has opened with record luxury vehicle sales, according to organisers at Fira de Barcelona. The 38th edition running from October 11-19 showcases premium motorhomes priced up to €1 million. Catalonia leads Spain’s campervan boom with sales increasing 23% this year.

Premium Lifestyle Shift

Luxury manufacturers report growing demand for high-end mobile homes. These vehicles feature wine cellars, motorcycle garages and premium leather interiors. Additionally, they include advanced insulation systems and smart home technology.

Silvia, a recently retired Minorcan, sold her house to purchase a €450,000 motorhome. “My intention is to travel the world with my two cats,” she explained. “I plan to live here full-time.” Industry experts note this trend reflects changing retirement patterns.

Technical Specifications

These luxury vehicles measure 8-12 metres with truck chassis and 200hp engines. They offer week-long autonomy through lithium batteries and solar panels. Water tanks hold 350 litres while waste systems last 10 days between emptying.

Interiors contain four separate areas including full kitchens with induction hobs and dishwashers. Bedrooms feature king-size beds and extensive storage. Bathrooms have separate rainfall showers and toilet compartments according to specifications.

The show continues through October 19 at Hospitalet’s Fira venue. Organisers expect over 50,000 visitors during the nine-day event. Meanwhile, Catalonia’s campervan market shows no signs of slowing according to industry analysts.
