The 4th edition of Mahou Bravas Fest Barcelona, held at Poble Espanyol this weekend, attracted over 30,000 visitors. The festival showcased bravas recipes from 14 restaurants across the city.

Organisers used 10 tonnes of potatoes during the event, serving around 42,000 portions of bravas. Meanwhile, punters consumed more than 15,000 other tapas and drank over 25,000 litres of Mahou beer.

Vic’s creative gastrobar Xinvic (Instagram / Google Maps) won the prize for best bravas by public vote. The Vietnamese restaurant Món Viêt (Instagram / Google Maps) from Eixample took home the jury award.

The gastronomy event ran throughout the entire weekend at Poble Espanyol. It has established itself as one of the city’s most important foodie gatherings, celebrating Spain’s most iconic tapa.

The massive turnout demonstrates the success of this fourth edition. Barcelona’s love affair with patatas bravas shows no signs of slowing down, with both traditional and creative interpretations drawing huge crowds.
