A man walked into Granollers police station on Sunday. He then tried to snort cocaine in the waiting room. Officers arrested him on the spot.
The incident happened on 5 October at the Mossos d’Esquadra headquarters in Granollers, north of Barcelona. The man showed up voluntarily and asked to speak with an officer. However, he didn’t say why he was there.
Staff directed him to the waiting area. That’s where things got weird. Officers caught him attempting to use cocaine whilst sitting in the station. They searched him immediately.
Police found over 20 grams of cocaine on him. As a result, he faces charges for resisting authority and public health offences. The Mossos confirmed the arrest on social media this Wednesday.
Moreover, the arrested man needed medical attention. His condition required a hospital visit. Officers transported him there before processing.
Police described the case as unusual. It’s rare for someone to voluntarily enter a station and then attempt drug use inside. The bizarre circumstances made it newsworthy.
