Barcelona’s Urban Guard has arrested a man following an alleged stabbing incident that left another person in critical condition in the Trinitat Vella neighbourhood on Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 6:00 PM on Finestrelles Street when two individuals became embroiled in a fight, resulting in one man stabbing another. The victim was immediately transported to Vall d’Hebron Hospital by the Medical Emergency System (SEM) in serious condition.

According to reports from ‘El Caso’, the victim sustained a knife wound to the lung, causing a pneumothorax for which he is currently receiving hospital treatment. The severity of the injury has left medical staff concerned for the victim’s recovery prospects.

The Urban Guard successfully apprehended the alleged perpetrator following the altercation in Trinitat Vella, where the injured party suffered significant trauma. The incident required immediate intervention from emergency medical services, who worked swiftly to transport the victim to hospital for urgent treatment of his life-threatening injuries.

The case underscores ongoing concerns about street violence in certain Barcelona neighbourhoods, with authorities working to address the underlying causes of such confrontations.
