The film adaptation of Mar i Cel hits Catalunya’s cinemas on 28 November. Dagoll Dagom’s beloved musical gets the big-screen treatment through a joint initiative with 3Cat.
Director Paulí Subirà delivers exceptional technical quality. The production was shot entirely in 4K resolution. Moreover, the sound combines live performance recordings with 53 musicians from the Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès and pianist Albert Guinovart.
The film features the 2024 stage production’s cast. Alèxia Pascual and Jordi Garreta lead the ensemble. They’re joined by Abel García, Albert Gràcia, Berta Luna, Xavi Fernández, Eloi Gómez, Clara Renom, and Sergio Escribano.
Alfa Pictures will handle distribution across Catalunya. The film represents a cinematic adaptation of Dagoll Dagom’s hugely successful theatrical musical.
