Montcada i Reixac Council has signed an agreement with the Urban Conservation Entity of the Foinvasa-Molí d'en Bisbe industrial park to fund a €950,419.23 mobility upgrade project. The work is aimed at making transport inside the park safer and more efficient for businesses and workers.
The Diputació de Barcelona is providing €684,301.84 through its 2025-2028 Industrial Park Improvement Sectoral Programme. The Urban Conservation Entity will cover the remaining €266,117.39, which is 28% of the total budget.
The planned improvements will focus on Beat Oriol Street and its junctions with Bach Street and Narcís Monturiol Street. Bartolo Egea, Mayor of Montcada i Reixac, attended the signing, along with David Zambrana, Councillor for Local Economic Development and Promotion, and Salvador Asbert, Secretary of the Urban Conservation Entity.
The agreement sets out a public-private working model between the council and local businesses. According to the council, this approach is meant to support competitiveness and the modernisation of economic activity areas by pooling resources and coordinating investment.
The project sits within the Diputació de Barcelona's 2024-2027 Local Governments Network Plan. Montcada i Reixac is in the Barcelona province, just north of Barcelona city, and the Foinvasa-Molí d'en Bisbe industrial park is one of the area's key business zones.
The agreement will stay in force until all project obligations are settled, with the deadline for execution and justification set for 31 October 2027. For more Barcelona-area local updates, see our Community coverage and Sport section.
