Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has issued a travel advisory for this coming Sunday, 25 January. The 47th Moritz Sant Antoni Race bus disruptions will affect the Sant Antoni neighbourhood significantly. Consequently, the transport operator strongly recommends the metro as the primary mode of transport. This advice is particularly timely, given the travel difficulties caused by the recent Rodalies collapse.
Traffic Impact and Timing for the Moritz Sant Antoni Race
The popular 10-kilometre race will cause extensive surface traffic restrictions. According to TMB, disruptions will begin early in the morning. Streets will be affected from approximately 05:00 to 13:30.

The affected zone is bordered by major thoroughfares. These include Gran Via, Passeig de Sant Joan, the Rondes, and Avinguda Paral·lel. During the event, moving around this perimeter by bus or car will be difficult. Therefore, the underground network is the most reliable option for commuters.
Affected Bus Lines During the Moritz Sant Antoni Race
A total of 28 bus lines will see their routes altered, limited, or diverted. TMB has confirmed that the following lines will be affected:
- D-Routes: D20, D50

TMB will implement necessary diversions to manage the network. However, delays are likely for surface transport in the vicinity. These disruptions come amid record demand for intercity buses. This highlights the potential impact on regional commuters.
Race Route Details and Public Transport Advice
The race kicks off at 09:00 from Carrer Floridablanca. Runners will navigate a loop that includes Carrer Casanova, Sepúlveda, and Gran Via. The circuit then passes through Plaça Tetuan and Passeig de Sant Joan. Finally, it circles back through the Rondes and Avinguda Paral·lel to finish near the start.
Promoting Sustainable Mobility During the Event
TMB is partnering with race organisers to encourage sustainable transport. In addition, the operator is providing 10,000 free single-use transport tickets to participants. This initiative aligns with the city’s broader efforts of promoting sustainable mobility.
Runners can collect these tickets when picking up their race bibs. The tickets are valid for travel on the public transport network on race day.
