Consequently, they discovered 70 marijuana plants alongside the sophisticated infrastructure required for cultivation. This equipment included specialised lights, air conditioning units, filters, and ventilation systems.

During the initial raid on December 3rd, officers arrested a 42-year-old man who was inside the property performing guard duties. Furthermore, he was found to be carrying an electric defence weapon among his belongings. Accordingly, he now faces additional investigation for the alleged illegal possession of weapons.

The following day, a second man aged 45 was detained as the alleged person responsible for the plantation. Both individuals were subsequently placed at the disposal of the on-duty Santa Coloma de Gramenet court.

The Mossos d’Esquadra have charged the men with drug trafficking and electricity fraud offences. This case highlights ongoing police efforts to combat organised drug cultivation within the metropolitan area. Meanwhile, similar operations continue across the region as authorities target the supply chain.

Residents have expressed relief at the intervention, which removes a potential security risk from the neighbourhood. The investigation remains open, and further details may emerge as the judicial process continues. This successful operation demonstrates the effectiveness of coordinated police work in addressing complex criminal activities.
