Missing person search efforts in Barcelona’s Gràcia district are intensifying as the Mossos d’Esquadra renew a public appeal to locate a 22-year-old man who vanished over two months.
According to a social media message from the Catalan police, Younis was last seen on 13 October in the Vila de Gràcia neighbourhood.

The police have provided a detailed description to aid the public. Younis is approximately 1.8 metres tall with a slim build and dark, curly hair. Furthermore, he was last seen wearing long jeans, a dark denim jacket, and trainers. Consequently, anyone with information is urged to come forward.

This case highlights the broader issue of missing persons in the city. Last year, 719 people were reported missing in Barcelona, averaging two per day. This figure is similar to previous years, with 736 cases in 2023 and 749 in 2022. Demographic data reveals interesting patterns. Adults aged 18 to 64 constitute the largest group at 68% of cases. Teenagers (13-17) account for 22%, while individuals over 65 represent 8%. Children under 12 make up just 2% of reports. Moreover, 60% of missing persons are men and 40% are women.
The renewed appeal for Younis comes as authorities continue to work on various public safety fronts. For instance, recent data shows a 3.5% overall decrease in crime across Barcelona in the first nine months of 2025.
