The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested four young men in Sant Boi de Llobregat, Barcelona, for alleged hate crimes linked to the far-right organisation National Nucleus (Núcleo Nacional). Consequently, these National Nucleus hate graffiti arrests highlight a sustained campaign of targeted vandalism.

The suspects are accused of creating and distributing graffiti targeting the Islamic community, immigrants, and left-wing political parties. Moreover, they amplified their actions on social media.

Targeted vandalism in Sant Boi

According to the Police of the Generalitat, the detainees are four men aged between 20 and 24. They were active in the Sant Boi de Llobregat area. Investigators suspect they were responsible for a sustained campaign of Islamophobic and anti-immigrant vandalism that began in June 2025.

Investigators identified a specific pattern to the graffiti. They noted a high concentration in the town centre. The vandals specifically targeted areas near a local Islamic oratory and commercial premises managed by migrants.

Beyond the physical damage, police reported that the group used social media platforms to disseminate images of their actions. Authorities stated this strategy was intended to increase the reach of their message. Therefore, it aimed to generate ‘social alarm’ within the community.

The arrests were carried out on 28 January by agents from the General Information Commissariat. This followed an extensive investigation. In an official statement, the Mossos confirmed the individuals are connected to the far-right organisation National Nucleus.

Evidence gathered by police indicated that the graffiti often included stickers associated with the organisation. These stickers served as a claim of responsibility for the acts.

The investigation remains open. Meanwhile, the arrests follow a recent Mossos operation against a human trafficking network. The four detainees have since been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities at the Court of First Instance in Sant Boi de Llobregat.
