Furthermore, the deployment covered Barcelona, Badalona, Sant Adrià de Besòs, Santa Coloma, L’Hospitalet, and several other municipalities. Additionally, security operations extended to Barcelona Airport, Figueres Airport, and the metro system.

The arrested individuals collectively accumulated 577 criminal records, highlighting the operation’s focus on persistent offenders. Meanwhile, police investigated 34 additional people who together had 197 previous criminal records. The operation also recovered two stolen vehicles and seized six electric scooters during the coordinated action.

Operation Kanpai Marks Tenth Anti-Crime Initiative

This represents the tenth ‘Kanpai’ operation conducted by Mossos d’Esquadra since the strategy launched last April. Consequently, the repeated initiatives demonstrate ongoing efforts to combat persistent criminal activity across the region. The operation follows recent police actions against organised crime networks in Barcelona.

Police issued 74 traffic fines and 122 administrative complaints related to drugs and weapons during the operation. Moreover, officers conducted 39 interventions in establishments under the 4/2015 law, according to Mossos sources. The comprehensive approach targeted multiple aspects of criminal activity throughout the metropolitan area.

While data from Figueres and the Metropolitan Area has been finalized, the final balance for Barcelona remains ongoing. Therefore, authorities anticipate additional updates as investigations continue. The operation reflects broader enforcement efforts across Barcelona’s regulatory landscape.

According to official reports from 20 Minutos, the Barcelona police operation represents one of the largest coordinated efforts against repeat offenders this year. The strategic deployment across transportation hubs and urban centers aimed to maximize impact against persistent criminal networks.
