Parets del Vallès Nativity Scene has opened its 39th edition, reclaiming its status as Catalonia’s largest tabletop Christmas crib. Parets del Vallès Nativity Scene Focuses on Rural Heritage – the display’s central theme celebrates the land.

Parets Del Vallès Nativity Scene so, for the first time, it features detailed recreations of sunflower fields, lavender plots, and irrigated parcels. Albert Pérez Ninou, president of the Parets Nativity Scene Association, explains the group had considered this agricultural focus for years.

They’ve also incorporated traditional craft elements. These include working oil and flour mills. However, pérez Ninou notes these scenes are sparking memories among older visitors.

A Record-Holding Cultural Attraction The Parets del Vallès Nativity Scene isn’t just big; it’s historically significant. It first set the Catalan record for Spain’s largest tabletop crib in 1996, covering 280 square metres. However, then, in 2004, it entered the Guinness Book of Records.

Technical effects enhance the realism. The installation uses natural water and lighting that simulates the passage from day to night. However, this creates a highly immersive experience for families.

Visiting the Monumental Christmas Crib The display will be open on weekends and public holidays. Visiting hours are from 11:00 to 13:30 and 17:00 to 20:30. It will also open exceptionally on the 29th and 30th of December. However, the Parets del Vallès Nativity Scene will remain assembled until 25th January.

With this agricultural edition, the town reaffirms its role as a leading centre for the nativity scene tradition in Catalonia. It offers a major cultural and family attraction during the holidays.
