Mossos d’Esquadra charged protesters outside Israel’s consulate in Barcelona last night after hundreds gathered following the Gaza flotilla interception. The police moved in when demonstrators tried pushing toward the consulate building.

Several Brimo (mobile brigade) units were guarding the consulate when protesters attempted to advance. Meanwhile, the crowd cut off Ronda del Mig traffic in both directions around 10pm, waving Palestinian flags and holding banners supporting the flotilla.
The flotilla organisation has called another protest for Thursday at 6pm in Plaça de la Carbonera. They’re demanding the release of detained activists and calling for a boycott of Israel.
The flotilla confirmed Wednesday night that Israeli troops boarded two of their boats around 8:10pm. Former Barcelona mayor Ada Colau was on one of the intercepted vessels.
Both Guàrdia Urbana and Mossos units remained at the scene whilst protesters maintained the road blockade on Ronda del Mig.
