Catalan police have launched an investigation into the death of a 22-year-old man in Lleida after he fell from a third-floor apartment on Sunday afternoon. Officers arrested two men, aged 28 and 24, in connection with the incident.
Investigation Underway
Paramedics transported the victim, whose identity has not been released, in a critical condition to Hospital Arnau de Vilanova in the city. He succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Monday morning, according to police sources who spoke to Europa Press.
Investigators suspect a dispute with his flatmates may have preceded the fatal fall. Police found evidence consistent with a struggle inside the apartment, including an open window leading to a light well, La Sexta reported.
Suspects Detained
The Mossos d’Esquadra, Catalonia’s autonomous police force, confirmed the ongoing investigation. They detained the two suspects on Sunday; one of them sustained injuries during the incident. Their role involves meticulous evidence gathering to establish the precise sequence of events.

Lleida, a city in western Catalonia with a population of over 140,000, is a significant agricultural and university hub. The incident occurred in a residential area, raising concerns among local residents. Such serious events often prompt discussions regarding safety and community well-being within the city.
Police hold the two arrested men in custody as the investigation continues. Authorities expect to provide further details as the case progresses.
