Barcelona police have arrested three individuals suspected of operating a sophisticated phone theft ring during a major music festival at Parc del Fòrum.
The Mossos d’Esquadra detained two men and one woman on Saturday 15 November after plainclothes officers observed them allegedly stealing mobile devices from festival attendees.
Undercover police initially identified two individuals with previous theft convictions who were known to target large public events.

Furthermore, officers monitored their movements throughout the festival grounds before witnessing them meeting with a third person who allegedly acted as the receiver for stolen devices. Consequently, authorities moved in to make the arrests at that crucial moment.
Barcelona Police Recover Stolen Property
The operation resulted in the recovery of 18 stolen mobile phones that authorities believe were taken from festival-goers during the event. The three detainees, aged 19, 20 and 27 years old, now face formal charges of theft. Additionally, police issued seven administrative citations: six for drug possession and one for property-related offenses.
This coordinated police action demonstrates the ongoing efforts to address repeat offenders operating in Barcelona’s public spaces. The suspects are scheduled to appear before judicial authorities this Monday to face formal proceedings regarding the alleged theft operation.
