The R4 train service has resumed between Martorell and L’Hospitalet de Llobregat this morning. This development brings relief to commuters following a significant disruption on Thursday evening.
According to the latest update, trains are now running at a frequency of four per hour on the affected section. The line was severed on Thursday night when a slope collapsed at the site of ongoing track burial works in Sant Feliu de Llobregat.

R4 Train Service Stabilisation
Sílvia Paneque, the Minister of Territory, confirmed the resumption of services via social media. In a statement on X, she noted that technical teams are continuing to “advance in the stabilisation of the system” following the incident.
Current R4 Train Service Schedule
While the connection between Martorell and L’Hospitalet has been restored, the R4 train service continues to operate under a complex schedule. Therefore, several alternative transport provisions remain in place. Rodalies has outlined the current service pattern as follows:
- Manresa to Terrassa Estació del Nord: Operated by a shuttle train running every hour, supplemented by a bus service.
- Terrassa Estació del Nord to Martorell: Standard rail service is operating with a frequency of four trains per hour in each direction.
- Martorell Central to Sant Sadurní d’Anoia: An alternative bus service is in operation with intermediate stops, departing every 30 minutes.
- Sant Sadurní d’Anoia to Sant Vicenç de Calders: Service is provided via a shuttle train running once per hour.
In addition, passengers are advised to check official Rodalies channels for real-time updates before travelling. Meanwhile, schedules may be subject to minor adjustments as normal service fully stabilises.
