The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a 38-year-old man on 4 October in Sant Adrià de Besòs for allegedly stealing an electric bicycle hours earlier in Barcelona. The suspect has more than 70 previous arrests on his record.

Around 5am, a patrol spotted a man riding an electric bike who fled when he noticed the officers. Police later caught him and arrested him for resisting arrest and unlawful appropriation, as he couldn’t prove the bike was his.
Officers investigated further and, thanks to a sticker on the bicycle, contacted its owner. The victim confirmed someone had stolen it from inside his vehicle on Carrer Provençals in Barcelona. The suspect appeared before a judge on Sunday.
The arrest happened specifically in Sant Adrià de Besòs, a municipality in Barcelona’s metropolitan area, following a chase that started when the suspect tried fleeing from the patrol. Police recovered the electric bike thanks to the identifying sticker that allowed them to locate the rightful owner.
