The prestigious guide has selected establishments perfect for holiday celebrations, from family gatherings to festive drinks.

Consequently, it features over 300 establishments across Spain deemed worthy of recognition. Furthermore, Barcelona leads the Catalan selections with ten awards.

María Ritter, director of the Repsol Guide, explained the inspiration behind the list. “Who doesn’t like to celebrate and get caught up in the sparkle of these special days?” she said. “We’ve been inspired by the collective desire to celebrate and have illuminated these Christmas ‘Solettes’ to have fun 24 hours a day.”

The selection includes comfortable restaurants for large and small groups. Additionally, it features bars with special holiday atmospheres and bakeries producing the best Christmas sweets. Therefore, whether it’s the first toast of the year or chocolate with churros after seeing the lights, these spots promise magical moments.

Pastry shops feature prominently in this festive edition. Mervier Canal, with two locations in Barcelona and four-time winner of Spain’s best croissant award, receives recognition. Meanwhile, 22:22 Cultura Dulce earns praise for its original and sophisticated baking, combining sweet and savoury elements with remarkable creativity.

Traditional establishments also shine. Xarcuteria Pineda, founded in 1904, represents an iconic Barcelona gastronomic space known for quality Iberian hams and sparkling wines. Similarly, La Campana in El Born continues its 130-year tradition with the same horchata and nougat recipes that have made it famous.

For those seeking exceptional catering, Aspic Home receives high praise. The Repsol Guide describes it as “one of the most powerful caterers in Catalonia,” where excellent wines, preserves, and cheeses share space with a well-stocked counter of prepared dishes.

Churros remain a festive staple, and Trébol continues its family legacy. Now in its third generation, the establishment maintains that churros are “gastronomic heritage that will never go out of fashion.” Meanwhile, L’Atelier earns recognition for its award-winning ‘roscón de Reyes,’ having won Catalonia’s best version in both 2023 and 2024.

The Convent of Santa María de Jerusalén offers a unique experience with artisan pastries and incredible city views. Additionally, Pessic Pastisseria, considered one of Catalonia’s top 50 pastry shops, prioritises local produce and creates a welcoming atmosphere.

Finally, the Barcelona Chocolate Museum completes the list. Located in the former Convent of Sant Agustí in Ciutat Vella, this dynamic space explains chocolate’s origins and medicinal properties, having welcomed its one-millionth visitor recently.
