Revolut is significantly expanding its Barcelona headquarters as part of a major hiring drive across Spain.
The digital banking giant announced on Thursday that it will open a new, larger office in the city’s Diagonal 444 building, reinforcing its commitment to the Catalan capital as a key technological hub.
The new Barcelona space will span 2,590 square metres across six floors and a ground floor.

It will feature 215 workstations, meeting rooms, dedicated phone booths, collaboration zones, and a lactation room. Furthermore, the company plans to hire over 300 additional employees in Barcelona by 2028, building on the more than 100 staff already recruited since its local office opened in April 2024.
Revolut Expansion Signals Tech Sector Confidence
This expansion underscores Barcelona’s growing reputation as a southern European tech centre. Revolut stated that global products in engineering, data, and operations are being developed from the city. The move comes alongside a parallel headquarters upgrade in Madrid, where the company will occupy 4,658 square metres and aims to hire 500 more people.
Consequently, Revolut’s total Spanish workforce, currently at 1,500, is set for substantial growth. The firm’s investment reflects broader economic confidence, mirroring other significant corporate investments in the region, such as the AGC Pharma Chemicals’ €100 million plant. According to the official announcement, both new offices will have exclusive access and corporate branding.
Meanwhile, this corporate growth occurs within a dynamic local economy. The city continues to attract international talent and business, a trend highlighted by the recent expat boom reshaping neighbouring Badalona. Revolut’s expansion, therefore, is a significant vote of confidence in Barcelona’s future as a leading European tech and financial services destination.
