Rodalies R1 and RG1 lines will be completely closed for nine days in early January due to major construction works.

The closure, affecting services between Barcelona’s El Clot Aragó station and Badalona, is scheduled from 3 to 11 January 2026.

Renfe announced the disruption this Thursday, attributing it to essential works by Adif around the future La Sagrera station.

Alternative Transport Arrangements for Rodalies Passengers

Consequently, passengers face significant changes to their usual routes. Renfe has confirmed that Badalona will serve as both the origin and terminus for affected services during this period. Furthermore, travellers can continue their journeys using Barcelona Metro Line 2 from Badalona and the Trambesòs from Sant Adrià de Besòs.

Additionally, Rodalies lines R2 and R4 remain available for connections to key stations including L’Hospitalet, Sants, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf and Clot. Passengers holding Rodalies tickets during the closure must obtain a transfer ticket for the alternative metro, bus or tram services.
