Rosalía Palestine concert: A statement against silence
While rumours of the singer’s participation had circulated, her appearance was not officially confirmed until she walked out. For many, her performance was more than just a musical contribution. In addition, it was interpreted as a clear rebuttal to critics who have previously accused the star of being “lukewarm” on political issues.
The concert served as the finale to an international campaign. It aimed to denounce the humanitarian situation in Palestine and raise essential funds. Meanwhile, the audience engaged with a diverse roster of artists, including Morad and Guillem Gisbert. Consequently, the venue became a manifesto of support.

Tribute to Hind Rajab
While the evening was marked by musical celebration, the mood earlier in the day was one of sombre remembrance. On the beach of the Catalan capital, the social organisation Avaaz organised a poignant tribute to Hind Rajab. This five-year-old Palestinian girl was killed in Gaza two years ago.
Around 200 people gathered facing the Mediterranean. They unfurled a massive 1,000-square-metre banner bearing the child’s portrait. The location was chosen for its symbolism. “We chose Barcelona because it is a representative city… Also, Hind loved the sea and the Mediterranean, and we want to send a message to the other side,” explained Patricia López, a spokesperson for Avaaz.
The event was attended by Hind’s mother, Wesam Hamada, who delivered an emotional address. Reciting a poem, she told the crowd: “I am not here to give a speech, I am the voice of the people who cannot shout. I represent the entire Palestinian people.”
British trauma surgeon Graeme Groom, who has completed over 40 missions in Gaza, also spoke at the tribute. He reminded attendees of the ongoing crisis. “Now we are in a supposed ceasefire, but there is still a lack of doctors, food, and all kinds of basic resources,” he warned.
