A Sant Adrià tram crash has left a truck driver hospitalised. The significant collision occurred in Sant Adrià de Besòs on Thursday morning. Consequently, the impact caused the Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) to overturn. The driver remained trapped inside the cabin for approximately two hours. The Sant Adrià tram crash occurred at 09:25 on Carrer de Cristòfol Moura. This location is in the La Mina neighbourhood. Emergency services were immediately alerted. Sant Adrià tram crash rescue operation

Five crews from the Bombers de la Generalitat were dispatched to the scene. They undertook a complex rescue operation. Upon arrival, they found the driver trapped within the crushed cabin. Therefore, they worked to cut the driver free from the wreckage. The extraction was successfully completed by 12:00. However, we also covered a recent fatal scooter accident in Sant Cugat.

Medical personnel from the Servei d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) attended to the driver. He was subsequently transferred to Hospital del Mar. According to SEM sources, his condition is described as “less serious” (moderate). He was the sole casualty reported in the incident.

The Sant Adrià tram crash caused significant disruption to the local transport network. To allow emergency teams to work safely, the overhead power lines had to be cut. Consequently, tram services were suspended between the Sant Joan Baptista and Besòs stops. Therefore, the frequencies of lines T4, T5, and T6 were altered throughout the morning. Services resumed after the rescue operation concluded and the site was cleared.
