Supermarket theft in Castelldefels: Brazen attempt foiled

Acting with apparent naturalness, the four suspects bypassed the checkouts and walked out. However, supermarket staff quickly spotted the theft. Employees alerted the authorities immediately, even before the group had fully exited the area.

Thanks to the rapid response from staff and their detailed descriptions, a joint patrol of Mossos d’Esquadra and local Castelldefels Police officers arrived within minutes.

Supermarket theft in Castelldefels: Car park arrest

Officers located the suspects in the shopping centre’s car park. The group was pushing the laden trolley towards a vehicle. The trolley contained hygiene products, beer, and various food items.

Police intervened before the goods could be loaded. When asked for a receipt, none of the four could provide proof of purchase. Consequently, officers arrested all four on suspicion of theft.

The total value of the recovered items exceeded €900. Fortunately, the goods were returned intact to the supermarket.

Authorities confirm the detainees are Spanish nationals. One individual already had a criminal record for similar offences. This suggests the group may be experienced in targeting retail establishments.
