The acclaimed Australian band’s leader has maintained a loyal tradition. He has visited the over 80-year-old establishment since 2019. Bar La Plata, in the bustling Ciutat Vella district, is renowned for its fried fish and anchovies. These popular tapas start from €3.50. During his latest visit, the two-time Grammy Award winner presented the bar with gifts. These included a bag of merchandise from the band’s new album, ‘Deadbeat’. Parker also dedicated a signed tour poster with the message: ‘La Plata, we love you’.

A Tradition of Loyalty

Parker and his band have consistently made time for Bar La Plata. They visited in 2019, 2022, 2025, and again in 2026. This year’s visit on 8 April followed their Madrid performance on 7 April. It occurred just hours before their Barcelona concert at Sant Jordi.

The band’s devotion to this Ciutat Vella institution has significantly bolstered its reputation. It is now considered one of Barcelona’s most authentic bars. Ciutat Vella, or ‘Old City’, is a historic district. It is home to over 100,000 residents and a major tourist hub.
