Police in Barcelona have arrested three people accused of using a hair salon in the Raval district as a front for drug trafficking. The suspects, aged between 26 and 45, now face charges relating to public health offences.

The raid, carried out by the Mossos d’Esquadra on 12 September, uncovered 50 grams of cocaine, 400 grams of hashish and over 1,000 benzodiazepine tablets. Officers also seized €6,500 in cash, luxury watches, jewellery, several knives, pepper sprays, a replica firearm and bottles of nitrous oxide. One watch alone could be worth as much as €180,000, pending expert valuation.
Further searches on 13 September in two properties in the Eixample district revealed additional high-end items, including 19 watches, more jewellery, €30,000 in cash and mobile phones. Investigators suspect the group may also have been involved in handling stolen goods.
Despite the outward appearance of being a functioning salon, police said there was no evidence of genuine commercial activity. Instead, the premises served as a base for preparing and packaging drugs. Two of the detainees already had a history of multiple arrests, with a combined total of 32 prior detentions.
The three suspects were brought before a judge on 14 September. The investigation, led by the Ciutat Vella investigation unit, remains open as officers work to trace the origins of the goods and return them to their rightful owners.
