The Three Wise Men, also known as the Magi, have once again set up their toy factory in Sant Andreu.
Inside The Three Wise Men’s Factory
Here, magical elves and workers receive children’s letters. They then start creating and preparing the gifts for distribution on the night of 5 January, after the Three Kings parade. However, the factory, according to 20 Minutos Barcelona, expects around 16,000 visitors this year. Meanwhile, these visitors will deliver their letters to the eight characters who ensure the gifts reach their destinations.
Among these characters is Veritas Veritis, responsible for validating the quality of the letters. She also offers important advice, such as encouraging children to ask for “wishes for the people we love, for those who may need it.For the world”. However, another key figure is Jubilus, the toy conservator, who reminds everyone about the importance of recycling. You can also find a dream fairy, a light fairy, and a wishing tree within the factory’s walls.
A Magical Tour
The factory opened its doors on Saturday, 27 December, and will remain open until 4 January. However, it will closed on 31 December and 1 January. However, this gives families the opportunity to witness how the Three Wise Men’s gifts are created. Meanwhile, this year’s edition features a longer tour, lasting approximately one hour. It is, according to Marta Villanueva, councillor for the Sant Andreu district, “full of magic”.
Villanueva also highlights the importance of the Fabra i Coats factory for the area. There are sixteen daily tours, each accommodating around 160 people every 15 minutes. Additionally, the route is fully accessible, with sessions available for children with special needs. However, the event’s popularity is evident, with tickets – though free, requiring prior booking – selling out rapidly.
Expanding Access to the Factory
Villanueva admits that expanding the number of available tickets is difficult. That’s because the event is an evening spectacle. Therefore, morning sessions are not possible, limiting the number of tours and attendees. However, still, she assures that they are always looking for ways to increase accessibility, while maintaining safety measures. Meanwhile, maybe next year you can experience the magic yourself.
