Tibidabo ice rink has opened today, offering skaters the most spectacular panoramic views of Barcelona.
The attraction, situated in the Plaça dels Somnis at the city’s highest point, represents a unique festive addition to the iconic amusement park’s Christmas programme.

The rink boasts 235 square metres of skating surface and can accommodate up to 50 skaters simultaneously. Furthermore, the park has reinforced its commitment to inclusion with specialised skating aids including polar bear supports, penguin guides, and sled chairs for children and adults with reduced mobility.
Sustainability forms another key characteristic of this seasonal attraction. The rink is constructed from recycled, non-toxic materials and operates without consuming electricity or water. According to recent coverage of the park’s developments, the supplier holds ISO 9001 and 14001 certifications, guaranteeing environmental respect throughout the manufacturing process.
This marks the fourth consecutive year the park has offered ice skating, an activity enjoyed by over 12,000 people last season. The rink will remain open every day the park operates until 5th January, from midday until closing time. Access is included with standard park admission, although a dedicated €5 ticket is available for those wishing to experience only the skating.
Expanded Christmas Programme Across Barcelona
Beyond the ice rink, Tibidabo’s full Christmas transformation includes a 12-metre natural tree dominating the panoramic area and special illuminations on classic rides. The festive schedule features encounters with Santa Claus, the Magi’s page, and the Krampus character in the Espai 666, alongside shows with park mascots, Christmas elves, and traditional performances.
The park’s programming forms part of a wider seasonal offering from municipal company BSM. Consequently, Barcelona Zoo has already unveiled new decorations and activities, while Park Güell has illuminated its Hypostyle Hall for the first time and added Christmas displays. Additionally, the Port Olímpic will join in from 20th December with its own light installations and traditional celebrations.
