Commuters in Barcelona using the Trambesòs T4 line should plan for disruptions this Tuesday, 10 February. The operator has announced a temporary partial Trambesòs T4 line suspension for maintenance.

Consequently, trams will stop running between the Glòries and El Maresme stations for a three-hour window, specifically from 10:00 to 13:00. This interruption is required to facilitate maintenance work by the municipal Parks and Gardens department (Parcs i Jardins).

Reason for the Trambesòs T4 line stoppage

The suspension is not due to a technical fault with the tracks or vehicles. Instead, it is an environmental intervention. Maintenance crews will work along Avinguda Diagonal to remove bird nests from the trees lining the tramway.

In a statement, TRAM explained that this work is necessary. It prevents potential safety risks to the public and ensures the tram system functions correctly without obstruction from the adjacent greenery.

Affected stations and alternative routes

During the three-hour cut, the following stops on the T4 line will be out of service:

  • Glòries
  • Ca l’Aranyó
  • Pere IV
  • Fluvià
  • Selva de Mar
  • El Maresme

To mitigate the inconvenience, TRAM will reinforce services on the T6 line. This line connects Glòries and Estació de Sant Adrià via the Gran Via route.

Meanwhile, the rest of the Trambesòs T4 line will operate as usual. This section runs between Glòries and Verdaguer. Therefore, TRAM expects full service across the entire line to be restored by 13:00. In addition, passengers are advised to check the official TRAM app or social media channels for real-time updates before travelling.
