The Barcelona City Council confirmed the completion this Sunday, marking the final phase of enhancement projects that began in 2021.
The transformation covers 596 square metres along the upper lateral section of Via Augusta, extending from General Vives street to the initial metres of Isaac Albéniz street near Borràs square.
Furthermore, the project has focused on three key areas: pavement expansion and resurfacing, creation of new green areas with vegetation, and construction of a staircase to address level changes near future housing developments.

Residents will immediately notice the widened sidewalks, which now feature four-piece tile pavement designed specifically for pedestrian areas. Additionally, the installation of new street furniture and LED lighting has dramatically improved both functionality and safety after dark.
