Meanwhile, the Agadir service will operate twice weekly, expanding Vueling’s presence in southern Morocco.
Vueling Expands Barcelona Routes with Enhanced Frequency
The new Ljubljana service will initially operate twice weekly between Thursday and Sunday. Furthermore, an additional Tuesday flight will be added during December to accommodate increased demand. Consequently, Barcelona becomes the only Spanish city offering direct flights to Slovenia’s capital.
Meanwhile, the Agadir route will connect Barcelona with the Moroccan city every Wednesday and Sunday. This expansion complements Vueling’s existing Moroccan operations from Barcelona to Essaouira and Marrakech. The airline consequently solidifies its position as the primary carrier connecting Spain with the region.
These latest additions continue Vueling’s aggressive expansion from Barcelona El Prat Airport over the past twelve months. The IAG subsidiary previously announced five new routes earlier this year, including connections to Tivat in Montenegro, Rimini and Salerno in Italy, Essaouira in Morocco, and Tirana in Albania.
Additionally, the airline increased its weekly seat capacity by 9% during peak season through the addition of three more aircraft at its Catalan base. This strategic growth aligns with broader infrastructure investments in Barcelona’s airport facilities.
The expansion demonstrates Vueling’s commitment to enhancing Barcelona’s international connectivity. Moreover, it provides travellers with more direct options to emerging destinations while supporting the city’s tourism economy. The new routes also offer convenient connections for both business and leisure travellers seeking alternatives to traditional European hubs.
As Barcelona continues to establish itself as a major Mediterranean transport hub, these new routes contribute significantly to the city’s global accessibility. The increased flight options therefore benefit both local residents and international visitors exploring Catalonia’s vibrant capital.
