Vueling has inaugurated its latest connection, linking Barcelona and Córdoba with two weekly flights on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the winter season. The move makes Vueling the only airline currently operating in all six Andalusian airports, a milestone celebrated with a launch event at Córdoba Airport.

The inaugural flight, VY1642, touched down at 14:50 on Thursday and was greeted by local authorities including Córdoba’s mayor, José María Bellido, the president of the provincial council, Salvador Fuentes, the secretary general of Tourism, Yolanda de Aguilar, and the government’s subdelegate in Córdoba, Ana López.

According to Vueling’s head of Public Affairs, Rosaura Férriz, the new connection not only strengthens Córdoba’s direct access to Barcelona but also expands its reach to more than 100 destinations served from El Prat. ‘This new route enhances connectivity and places Córdoba firmly on the map for both business and leisure travellers,’ Férriz said.

The subdelegate of the Spanish Government in Córdoba highlighted that the new route aligns with the state’s strategy of expanding Córdoba’s airport infrastructure, which has been seeing year-on-year growth in passenger numbers. With the addition of this connection, Córdoba gains direct access to one of Europe’s major hubs, offering passengers improved access to a global network.

The flights will run twice weekly, with the schedule designed to accommodate both weekend travellers and business passengers commuting between the two cities.
