Barcelona’s biggest annual festival, La Mercè, runs from 23 to 28 September 2025, filling the city with concerts, cultural performances and outdoor celebrations. With so many events taking place in the open air, the weather will play a crucial role in the success of the festivities.

- Tuesday 23 September (Opening Day): Rain is expected from early afternoon into the evening. Meteocat has issued a moderate risk alert, warning of up to 20 mm of rain in just half an hour. Temperatures: 16°C–22°C.
- Wednesday 24 September (Public Holiday): Morning showers are likely, but clearer skies and sunshine could follow by midday. Temperatures: 16°C–21°C.
- Thursday 25 September: More showers are forecast, especially in the afternoon. A slight rise in temperatures is expected. Temperatures: 16°C–22°C.
- Friday 26 to Sunday 28 September: The key festival weekend remains uncertain. Current forecasts suggest a low chance of rain on Saturday, while Friday and Sunday predictions are less clear. Temperatures should stay stable, with highs around 24°C and lows near 16°C.
Festival-goers should be prepared for mixed conditions – umbrellas may be as useful as sunglasses throughout the week.
