The weekend’s almost here. Autumn brings loads of cultural and leisure options across Catalunya. We’ve prepared a list so you’ve got no excuse not to explore somewhere new this Saturday and Sunday.

Last years edition of the Jazz festival / Ajuntament of Barcelona

ArtsLibris 2025

The 16th edition runs from 10th to 12th October at MACBA. Around 100 publishers will attend, with talks, presentations and workshops on artist publications, contemporary bibliophilia and photo books. Entry is free all weekend.

International Jazz Festival

The 57th Barcelona International Jazz Festival starts Friday and runs until March 2026. The city will host major international names, emerging voices and special projects celebrating jazz history and diversity. The programme features 48 concerts across ten Barcelona venues.

Oktoberfest

The German beer festival’s set up at Fira Barcelona in Montjuïc. Running from 2nd to 19th October, it offers German beer and Bavarian food like pork knuckle, roast chicken with potatoes, sausages, pretzels and other typical dishes. Entry is free except Friday and Saturday evenings, when tickets cost five euros.

Vila Màgica Magic Festival

Gràcia fills with magic shows this weekend. Starting Thursday and running until Monday 13th October, the festival features family shows, comedy performances, close-up magic, clowns and competitions. Different neighbourhood spaces host activities including magic contests, family comedy galas and various magic workshops.

Plans for children are diverse. New films premiere at Catalan cinemas, there’s a modernist festival in Reus, and apple and nougat fairs. Autumn also means theatres reopening with new shows for this season.

Culture and festivals in Berguedà

Cultural autumn explodes in Berguedà. Coinciding with World Mental Health Day, there are awareness and destigmatisation activities. The region also hosts various fairs and festivals, some new like Festes de la Baronia de Pinós, others deeply rooted in October like Festa Major de Cercs and Fireta Tocats pels Bolets.

Activities in Osona and Lluçanès

Seva’s Mushroom Festival returns Sunday with product stalls, competitions, activities for everyone, tastings and exhibitions. Vic hosts Protesta Festival with 35 films, and FLIC promoting reading habits. Nearly 500 free activities happen across Osona and Lluçanès for European Heritage Days.

Events in Manresa

European Heritage Days come to Manresa with programming inviting you to explore usually closed spaces, join guided tours or solve puzzles in historic buildings. Meanwhile, the 28th Fira Mediterrània started Thursday with four intense days of stage shows, music and street performances. Monistrol de Montserrat hosts the second Joan Carles i Amat Festival from 11th to 17th October, honouring the local doctor and musician.

Modernist Festival in Reus

Camp de Tarragona offers plenty of choice. Reus becomes the epicentre again with the 53rd exproReus and a journey to 1900 with the Modernist Festival. L’Hospitalet de l’Infant hosts Vermut Live Music with live performances and local food at bars and restaurants. Tarragona’s Sona Flamenc Festival presents highlights with Yoel Vargas on Friday and Estrella Morente on Saturday.

International Photography Festival in Rubí

Throughout October, La Nuu International Photography Festival arrives in Rubí with exhibitions and activities dedicated to author photography. This edition brings some of contemporary photography’s most relevant voices to the city.
