Piscina Barcelona, organised by Fira de Barcelona, will host a key event on 27 May at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion. The 'Water & Space: designing the future of well-being' event will explore how water shapes urban and architectural spaces. It aims to improve the quality of life for residents in Barcelona.

Designing for Urban Well-being

Fira de Barcelona reported that the event seeks to redefine the relationship between architecture, landscape, community, and well-being through water. The programme will offer presentations and cross-conversations. These sessions will explain how water can influence urban environments. The goal is to create spaces that enhance public welfare.

Global Perspectives on Water Design

A central part of the meeting will involve a cross-cultural discussion. Experts from Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East will participate. This dialogue will share common contexts, challenges, and opportunities in water-related design. It will also examine water's social impact on communities. Piscina Barcelona intends to establish a new knowledge forum that extends beyond the traditional trade fair setting.

Barcelona's Architectural Vision

The event is also part of the official programme for Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture. This designation highlights Barcelona's commitment to architectural innovation and urban planning. The city aims to lead in integrating sustainable design. The main Piscina Barcelona exhibition will take place from 15 to 18 November. Fira de Barcelona's Gran Via venue, a major exhibition complex in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, hosts this event.

This initiative reflects Barcelona's ongoing efforts to integrate sustainable and human-centric design into its urban fabric. It seeks to position the city as a leader in innovative urban development. The event offers a platform for global experts to contribute to Barcelona's future urban landscape and its residents' well-being.
