Barcelona is closing two major streets, Gran de Gràcia and the Creu Coberta-Sants axis, to vehicle traffic this Saturday 6 June and Sunday 7 June, from 10:00 to 21:00. The city says the Obrim Carrers scheme is meant to give more space to pedestrians, but it will also affect local mobility and bus services.

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) says several bus lines will change route because of the closures. In Gràcia, lines V17, 22, 24 and 114 are affected. TMB advises people travelling in the area to use the metro instead, with Diagonal (L3, L5), Fontana (L3) and Lesseps (L3) among the nearest stations.

On Gran de Gràcia, the affected buses will divert from Plaça del Cinc d'Oros via Avinguda Diagonal, Via Augusta and Avinguda de la Riera de Cassoles before reaching Plaça Lesseps. The 114 line will also avoid Gran de Gràcia, Ros de Olano, Via Augusta and Travessera de Gràcia because of the Comerç al carrer event.

In Sants, lines D20 and V5 will also be disrupted. The D20, towards Plaça Espanya, will divert via Avinguda de Madrid, Carrer de Berlín, Carrer de Numància and Carrer de Tarragona. Towards Carrer de Sants, it will reroute via Carrer de Tarragona, Plaça dels Països Catalans, Passeig de Sant Antoni, Carrer de Comtes de Bell-Lloc and Avinguda de Madrid. The V5, towards Mare de Déu de Port, will divert via Passeig de Sant Antoni, Carrer de Tarragona and Carrer de Consell de Cent.

TMB recommends using nearby metro stations in the Sants area, including Collblanc (L9S, L10S, L5), Badal (L5), Plaça de Sants (L1, L5), Hostafrancs (L1) and Espanya (L1, L3). The city says only municipal service vehicles, emergency vehicles, loading and unloading traffic, residents accessing private car parks, users of rotation parking, taxis in emergencies and vehicles for people with reduced mobility may pass through. Bicycles and scooters are allowed, but pedestrians have priority and the speed limit is 10 km/h.

TMB and the Barcelona City Council are the main sources for route changes and access rules. For more Barcelona transport coverage, see our Sport and Community pages for related local updates.
