Barcelona police have arrested a 52-year-old man after a stabbing in Nou Barris on Sunday evening, following a CE Europa football match at Can Dragó.

The incident happened in a bar on Carrer Rio de Janeiro. Mossos d'Esquadra received an alert at about 19:11 about a fight at the venue, and officers found one person with a stab wound. Paramedics took the injured person to hospital.

Police quickly located and arrested the suspect. He faces charges for alleged assault and criminal damage, after reportedly breaking the bar's door during the altercation. The investigation is still open.

Reports from L'Independent de Gràcia and El Caso, cited by police sources to ACN, say the victim was a CE Europa supporter and that the man who started the fight allegedly wore a Spanish flag when he entered the bar. Those details have not been expanded on by police.

Earlier on Sunday, CE Europa played Celta Fortuna at Can Dragó, a stadium in Nou Barris. For more local sport coverage, see our Sport page, and for wider local reporting, visit Community.
