High-speed train services between Barcelona-Sants and Camp de Tarragona have resumed after a trackside fire disrupted the line near Sant Vicenç dels Horts and El Prat de Llobregat.

The incident began at 14:51 and caused delays and cancellations for Renfe, Iryo and Ouigo services on one of Catalonia's busiest rail corridors. The disruption affected passengers travelling between Barcelona and Tarragona, with knock-on effects across the route.

The fire was in a sensitive area close to the rail corridor that serves Barcelona's El Prat Airport. Both Sant Vicenç dels Horts and El Prat de Llobregat are in the Barcelona metropolitan area, which made the disruption especially disruptive for commuters and long-distance travellers.

Emergency services responded to put out the blaze and rail authorities checked the track before restoring operations. Travellers were advised to check with their operator for the latest schedules while services were being brought back to normal.
