Barcelona’s 12th Tast a la Rambla fair has closed after four days in Plaça Catalunya, drawing about 400,000 visitors and selling 152,320 tastings. The event moved there because of ongoing works on La Rambla, but organisers say it kept the same strong turnout as previous years.

The fair brought together 30 restaurants and six pastry shops. Among the participants were venues with 13 Michelin stars and 18 Repsol Suns, underlining the range of cooking on show in the city centre.

Dani García’s hamburger from his Leña restaurant was named the most popular dish. La Mafia Mexicana came second, while Família Nuri finished third.

Jordi Parra, director of the festival and Grup GSR, said Barcelona’s cuisine is not only successful, but also top-notch. The event was organised by Amics de La Rambla and Grup GSR.

Àlex Balletbó, president of Amics de la Rambla, said the fair will return to its original home on La Rambla in 2027, once the promenade works are finished. For more on the event’s move to Plaça Catalunya, see our earlier report on Tast a La Rambla in Plaça Catalunya.
