Barcelona commuters using the FGC S1 line are facing disruption between Rubí and Terrassa Rambla after a catenary fault at Les Fonts station, with the problem in place since 11:30 on Thursday.
The fault has affected services on the Barcelona-Vallès line, with changes also hitting the S2 line. FGC says trains are running about every 20 minutes while the disruption continues.
The operator has put an alternative road service in place for the affected stretch and has advised passengers to consider Rodalies for travel to Terrassa. FGC also said on X that its technicians are working to fix the issue as soon as possible.
The S1 usually runs between Plaça Catalunya in Barcelona and Rubí, and between Terrassa Rambla and Terrassa Nacions Unides. The current interruption affects the section between Rubí and Terrassa Rambla, a key link for people travelling between Barcelona and Vallès Occidental for work and study.
FGC has sent technical teams to Les Fonts station to repair the damaged catenary. The company has not said how long the disruption will last, so passengers should check its official updates before travelling. For more local transport coverage, see our Community and Sport pages.
