Hospital Clínic Barcelona will host its second annual "Open Clínic" event on Saturday, 9 May, inviting residents to explore its campus and engage with health initiatives. This free public day aims to connect the hospital with the community, showcasing its diverse activities and promoting healthy lifestyles.

The event, which attracted over 5,000 people last year, features more than 120 activities for all ages and interests. These include practical workshops, informative conferences, and interactive stands. Visitors can also enjoy sports activities, live music performances, and engaging cooking demonstrations. The programme runs from 09:30 to 16:00 on Casanova Street, specifically between Provença and París streets, transforming the urban space into a health-focused festival.

Hundreds of volunteer professionals from various entities within the Hospital Clínic campus will make the day possible. They focus on direct engagement with residents of the Left Eixample, known as Esquerra de l'Eixample, and the wider Barcelona community. The event highlights health prevention and encourages healthy habits through interactive experiences, making complex health information accessible to everyone.

Promoting Health and Community Connection

This marks the second edition of the "Open Clínic" initiative, building on the success of its debut. The Hospital Clínic serves a significant portion of Barcelona, particularly the Eixample district, a densely populated area home to over 260,000 residents. Events like this help foster a stronger relationship between the institution and the people it serves, moving healthcare beyond the hospital walls.

The "Open Clínic" programme offers a unique opportunity for residents to learn about the hospital's less visible work, such as research and specialised treatments. It provides direct contact with medical professionals in a relaxed, festive setting, allowing for questions and informal discussions. Additionally, the event encourages participation in activities designed to improve overall well-being. Visitors can access the full programme details on the event's official website, ensuring they do not miss any preferred sessions.

What to Expect on Casanova Street

Casanova Street, a central artery in the Eixample, will become a pedestrian zone for the event. This allows for a safe and enjoyable environment for families and individuals to explore the many offerings. The activities are designed to be both educational and entertaining, covering topics from nutrition and exercise to first aid and mental health awareness. This community-focused approach aims to empower residents with knowledge and tools for better health management.

The event reinforces the hospital's commitment to public health education and community outreach. By bringing health services and information directly to the streets, Hospital Clínic Barcelona continues to strengthen its ties with local residents, promoting a healthier Barcelona for all.
